What they say about us
Great Hotel Excellent Customer Service/Care, very clean
The Hotel is in a great area to reach the centre of Florence, even by walking. The bedroom I did stay was a double and it was spacious, clean, and with all the requirements to make your stay easy. Fridge, kettle, a lovely bathroom with shower (requested instead than bath tab), and the cleanness of the space was great (which is very important for me).
The welcome was great, the people at the reception were very professional and their customer care skills were second to none, no request was too much.
I have had a great stay and I will go back to the Hotel Grifone if/when in Florence again.
Very nice hotel at Florence
My partner and I visited Florence and stayed 2 nights at this hotel.
We enjoyed it so much.
The hotel is stunning, entering and smelling good quality hotel.
The receptionists were nice and helpful. 5/5
The room is beautifully decorated, large and bright. 5/5
Breakfast was good. There was not a large selection of food, but there was a very large selection of teas. 4/5
There is a small parking lot for the hotel. Leave the car keys at the reception and if necessary they move and park somewhere else in the parking lot.
The hotel is a bit far from the center, but after a walk of less than 5 minutes you reach a bus stop, where there is a bus every few minutes that takes right to the city center - about 15 minutes drive.
It is important to note that it is not possible to pay in cash on the bus. There are 2 options: pay on bus on credit only or buy travel tickets at the hotel reception.
We stayed four days there. The hotel staff is just great, they were really helpful. Rooms are comfortable and everything was clean during our stay. They have private parking, just book a place for your car in advance. There's also a spa, though we did not use it. And if you like playing piano, a very nice, playable one is in the lobby.
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. We were allocated a room at the back of the hotel across the car park and it was huge , very nicely decorated and spotless. We asked to move as there were a few mosquitos and the staff were great and moved us straight away. The new room was again spotless and very newly decorated. The main hotel itself was lovely and the breakfasts were really good. There’s a supermarket really near and wine, water etc is cheap. It is within walking distance of the centre of Florence and you can walk along the river which is nice but very hot as there’s no shade. It takes about half an hour. We found a better way into Florence which was down side streets where there was shade and shops to look in. We would recommend the hotel Grifone and would definitely stay there again.
Loved this hotel. We stayed here as part of a purchased itinerary. We were not sure what to expect but we were not disappointed. We were allocated a disabled suite, not that we needed it, but I can confirm that it was spotless. There would be plenty of room for a wheelchair and there was a wet room shower, although there wasn't any seating available. The bathroom was large and well appointed although the hair dryer was falling off of the wall as the flex was far too short to comfortably reach the mirror, which was over the bathroom sink.
The staff all spoke very good English and nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast was good and plentiful and service with a smile from the waitresses.
Although this hotel appears to be out of town, it is serviced by a regular bus with tickets having to be bought prior to getting on. Florence has only ony price buss ticket and that is the €1.50 which lasts 90 mins. The 24 and 48 hour tickets here have been abolished.
The hotel is not far from the river and it is a nice walk along the riverbank into and out of the city should you wish to do that. As in all tourist city destinations, be aware of those selling and also pick pockets, especially in crushes.
